Overview
Technical societies distributed across urban nodes — the engineers, artificers, and infrastructure specialists who build and maintain what everyone else depends on. Their influence is practical rather than political: whoever controls the caravanserai networks and engineering infrastructure controls the physical conditions of trade. They do not seek political authority; they seek contracts, and the leverage that comes from being the ones who know how things work and how to fix them when they break.
